Early career opportunities

We are keen to attract bright, enthusiastic people with a can-do attitude, who want to start their career with us. Connect Group is an exciting place to be right now as we not only build on our core logistics business, but also move into new markets with Pass My Parcel and Jack’s Beans. We are at the primary stages of developing our early careers programmes.

Early careers opportunities with Connect Group

Across Connect Group we offer a number of different opportunities for those looking to join the business. You can find out more about the opportunities on offer below.

'Warehouse to Wheels' Programme

This is our development programme aimed at colleagues in distribution centres. We want to give all colleagues the opportunity to progress and this scheme encourages our operatives to train to be a driver.

Distribution Apprenticeships

Our distribution centre apprentices get valuable, hands-on experience in distribution, whilst developing a range of practical skills. They study for NVQs while working in our operation, giving a perfect mix of industry experience and blended learning.

Modern Apprenticeships

We offer a range of apprenticeships in areas like IT and business finance, meaning those who enjoy office life still have a chance to gain qualifications while they work. We are really starting to see the positive impact of developing talent in this way. We're growing our own pipeline of passionate colleagues with practical experience and a recognised qualifications.

People who started their career with us

Jessica Lloyd
People Advisor

I joined as a graduate wanting to get involved in a wide range of people-related tasks in a role offering the chance to progress in the future. It was my first full time job, but I was made to feel welcome from the moment I started and quickly established great working relationships with my colleagues. Everyone was really supportive which made me feel part of the team. I have been exposed to tasks that have broadened my knowledge and helped me gain a wide range of experience in a very short time. I feel that I am appreciated and whatever task I perform, I'm contributing to the company's goals.

Anya Ahmad
Head of Europe

Since I joined the Smiths News graduate scheme in 2009, I've progressed my career through different areas of the business. Now, as part of an international team at DMD, I spend a lot of time meeting customers and clients across the UK and Europe. This gives me the opportunity to use the skills I've learnt to deliver a positive result, from managing teams, to negotiating with high profile customers and implementing new business deals with airlines or airports. Operating between two of the fastest moving and complex supply chains means there's always something interesting going on.
